Spotting Fake Michael Kors Watches

Michael Kors is one of those designers that has indescribable flare and style. Like many customary designers, their collections are often times copied. The watch that you just bought could be an imitation and you don't even know it. How do you tell if you're buying fraudulent Michael Kors watches, or any luxury timepiece, for that matter? There are telltale signs of these types of watches. Below are some guidelines to help you conclude either you have an authentic timepiece or not:

How much did you spend on this piece? If you got an thinkable, deal...you know, one that seems too good to be true, it probably was. Sublime maker designer timepieces don't necessarily have to be ultra-expensive, but they won't come cheap either. These types of collections will regularly not be priced under 0. If you run over a wristwatch priced well under this amount, it will most likely be less than genuine. Know the standard sell prices of the watchmaker you are concerned in. Look for discrepancies in craftsmanship. Most of the makers of lesser quality watches will make mistakes. You might see a misspelled word on the dial or even glue holding numbers or logos in place. Luxury watches won't show any signs of glue and their names will be spelled correctly. Who did you buy this timepiece from? Did you check them out and read all the fine print before you made the purchase? If not, you might be in trouble. If you are going to shop on the internet, make certain that you are working with a reputable dealer. After you buy from an irresponsible vendor you can't certify that you will be able to make an change or return, so be meticulous up front. Most high quality timepieces will be made in Switzerland. The Swiss made name is one that represents quality and integrity. If you are buying a watch from a Swiss watchmaker and there is a "made in China" stamped on the back, beware.

It absolutely boils down to the fact that you have to know your facts. It's up to you, the consumer, to be knowledgeable about the pieces and their makers. You need to know pricing and be able to identify fine materials when you see them. You must be diligent and only buy from well-respected on-line dealers. In the end, if you do your homework... You will not be deceived.

A Look at Fashion From the Past Decade

As 2009 is coming to a close it is time to look back and see what defined the decade in terms of fashion. If you looked at a photo taken in the 60s, 70s, or 80s there were a few specific clothing styles that defined that time. Whether it was big hair and shoulder pads, mod mini dresses or bell bottoms it is easy to pinpoint a normal time that that photo was from. If person from 20 years in the time to come saw a photo of person taken from 2000 to 2009 could the same be said? The past 10 years has not introduced any new styles, but rather taken elements from the past and updated them.

Denim

Dark denim was all the rage, especially at the beginning of the decade. By the middle of the decade finding light denim was very rare. We saw the rise of designer denim brands costing hundreds of dollars. 7 For All Mankind was one of the first on the scene but it was soon after that we saw other brands like Citizens of Humanity, Joe's, True Religion, and Rock & Republic. Low waist Boot Cut and Flared jeans were everywhere. These jeans allowed them to cover the tops of boots and shoes. As the decade progressed, denim jeans became skinnier throughout the legs and seen in blacks and grays. Jeans were often embellished with studs and zippers and other adornments. The style became to tuck your jeans inside of boots and we began to see the waist of pants coming up higher. In fact, we saw the waists of jeans coming up very high, the high waist look was quite beloved for a while.

A Look at Fashion From the Past Decade

Musical Influences

Both Hip Hop and Pop Punk music had an affect of the way we dressed. With Hip Hop, the super baggy pants and hooded sweatshirts became beloved as well as matching jean jackets and jeans, and track suits. Phat Farm shoes and clothing was super beloved in the mid 2000s. The puffy jacket was super beloved as well. We still see these jackets colse to with the Northface being the most popular. The baggy jeans look (though no where near as baggy as in hip hop) was also a staple of the Pop Punk Look. The Punk look though paired the jeans with normal to small size shirts, wrist bands, and trucker hats. As the decade progressed, the Pop Punk look turned into an Emo look. In the late 2000s the androgynous look of skinny black pants with a small shirt and hooded sweatshirt, bold makeup along with eyeliner and dark nail polish for males and females, and Converse, Vans, or Dc shoes on the feet. It was often hard to tell the contrast between youthful boys and girls.

Military Influences

After September 11, 2001 there was a large resurgence of patriotism. Camouflage and cargo pants were very popular. The top fashion houses gave a twist to camouflage look with distinct colors and embellishments. Both men and women wore cargo pants made in colors ranging from the thorough khaki to other non former colors like blue, green, and red.

Boho-Chic Fashion

By 2003 the Boho-Chic look was quite mainstream. Sienna Miller was one of the first celebrities to be seen wearing this look but both Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are related with it as well. The look was a bit contradictory because the look made it seem like you were wearing homemade reasonable clothing, when in reality the clothes were produced by some of the most high-priced designers. Women wore loose fitting shirts, skirts, and dresses with uneven hemlines. Often the necklines were very wide, allowing them to fall off the shoulder. Big floppy hats and over-sized sunglasses were worn with them as well.

Juicy Couture

While first seen worn by Madonna in 1996, it was this past decade that took the Juicy Couture look to the next level. In 2004 the velour tracksuit became seen worn everywhere. The signature look of these tracksuits was low-riding drawstring pants with small form fitting zip up sweatshirts in vibrant colors.

Leggings

In 2005 leggings were back in fashion, though they did not come to be seen fully for an additional one 2 years when American Apparel began producing them. Leggings at first were simple in colors like black and gray but over time the colors and materials became bolder and brighter.

Dresses and Skirts

While they never disappeared entirely, the early part of the decade did not have many changes to the past styles. In 2004 super short form fitting mini denim skirts, often adorned with ruffles, became very beloved surrounded by the youthful set. For older women in their 20s and 30s, the skirts were a bit longer and also often had ruffles as well. In terms of dresses, most were spaghetti strap or strapless and form fitting, or thicker straps with ruffles. Both skirts and dresses often had uneven hemlines. At the end of the decade, many skirts were high waisted.

Ugg Boots

Around since the 1920s, in the 60s Ugg boots were worn in general in Australia and New Zealand, but in America as well, by the surf culture. They were the perfect boots to put on after an early morning in the ocean because of their sheep lining. In the late 1990s, many Hollywood stars were seen walking down the streets wearing these boots. By 2000 all of America Whether embraced or turned their nose up at these boots. While not the most stylish, these boots kept feet warm in the winter and cool in the summer due to their sheepskin lining. At first there were simple and basic in style but as time progressed, they became more fashionable adding zippers, patterns, brighter colors, and distinct materials. By the end of the decade the two most beloved styles were argyle and ankle height with a button closure.

Sunglasses

Eyewear this decade took a lot from the past. In the 80s and the publish of the movie Top Gun the aviator glasses look was in full swing. Twenty years later the look was still colse to but so were so other unavoidable glasses looks. The two eye glass main looks could not be any more distinct from one another. The geek chic look was in full swing in both regular and sunglasses. These glasses had thick rims and were often designer brands. The other look for eyeglasses was the rimless glasses. These also were often designer brand. In terms of sunglasses, also aviator, other beloved looks were over-sized glasses colse to since the 1970s, often worn by very tiny limited girls whose glasses were approximately bigger than they were, and the Ray Ban Wayfarer glasses which had been colse to since the 1950s.

The "It" Handbag

In the mid 2000s, all eyes turned not only to what you were wearing but also to what handbag you were carrying. in general due to television shows like Sex and the City and celebrities in Hollywood, the handbag on your arm became very important. High end designer handbags had been colse to for decades but it wasn't until recently that the point of the bag became crucial. The Hermes Birken, with a two year wait and hefty price tag was one of the first bags that every person woman wished to own. Other beloved "It" bags included Balenciaga Motorcycle, Botkier Bianca Satchel, Louis Vuitton Speedy, Marc Jacobs Stam, Prada Fairy Bag, and Chloe Paddington. Most of these bags were quite over-sized and quite heavy. The midpoint woman was no where near as able to own the real thing so they did the next best thing and bought a knock off version.

Media

Every woman raced to their television in the early part of the decade on Sunday nights to see what Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda best known as the girls from Sex In The City were up to. Their adventures, and more importantly, their fashions were closely examined. The affect of these characters on how we dressed was mind boggling. Every brand that they talked about and wore immediately became The brand to wear, or for most, dream to wear. Women were devastated when the show went off of the air in 2004 but were equally elated with the publish of the movie in 2008. Throughout the decade there have been many shows that delve into the fashions that celebrities wear. Most of these shows aired in E! These shows often would show you the thousands of dollars worth of clothing and accessories that they wore but also show the viewer how to recreate that look at a modest budget. Every award show was followed by some sort of television show that talked about the good, the bad, and the awful worn. midpoint designers scrambled to recreate and construe these designs for all to wear. The fashion reality shows also became a mainstay. The most beloved of these shows was project Runway. Once a week, we turned on our televisions to see Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, and Michael Kors, along with other top designers and fashion insiders, assign and critique wanna-be designers make their creations to walk down the runway. Viewers could not wait to the end of the season to see fashion week. This show was the launching pad for some of today's up and coming designers and we as viewers were able to discover it all happen.

Private Labels

Dreams were answered when in this past decade some of the top high end designers decided to make more affordable lines for the midpoint consumer. We saw Isaac Mizrahi originate a great line of clothing for Target, Vera Wang at Kohls, Michael Kors at Macy's, and both Jimmy Choo and Stella McCartney for H&M. Branch store also started their own private label brands that were high in ability and luxury. Many celebrities along with Jessica Simpson, Gwen Stefani, Carlos Santana, and Beyonce started their own lines of shoes and clothing for all of us to wear. Target saw the great hype of buying Isaac Mizrahi and created their Go International line which has top and upcoming designers selling affordable clothing, shoes, and purses. Some of these designers were Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, Zac Posen, Fiorucci, and Luella Bartley.

Michelle Obama

Not since Jackie Kennedy have we had a fashionable first lady. Michelle Obama puts together immaculate outfits and does so with a mix of high end and affordable clothing. She dresses her children in brands we can find at the local malls. No matter what she wears, it is a warrant that America is taking note and rushing to own it for their own.

Other Fashion Trends

Pointy toe shoes and boots Polo shirts, along with pink, for men and women Plaid shirts made a resurgence in 2008 Argyle patterns on shirts, sweaters, and boots, Ed Hardy, Crocs, Spanx, Botox.

Handbag Style Guide

According to one European survey, 30-year old women own an mean of 21 handbags and buy a new bag about every three months, with the mean woman amassing some 111 handbags over her lifetime. To many population those may sound like ridiculous figures, while serious handbag fashionistas may have duplicate or triple those numbers in their collection. Another study reports an mean of eighteen trips, totaling nearly 30 hours annually, shopping for handbags, jewelry, and scarves.

Handbags have evolved far beyond their 14th century roots. Once naturally a pouch worn about the waist for practical purposes before sewn-in pockets were common, the purse has become not only a way to keep your movable phone, keys, glasses, wallet, cosmetics and other essentials at hand, but a fashion-forward accessory to unblemished and compliment the wearer's every ensemble.

While most women say they have three or four purses they use regularly, they may have a dozen or more at home, waiting at the ready to be called into assistance for a special opportunity or as a exquisite compliment to a new outfit.

In expanding to a wide array of colors, fabrics, and textures, handbags are available in a collection of sizes and styles to fit your every mood. Listed below are some types of handbag styles. These are general terms to communicate basic styles; some bags may fit complicated categories or none at all.

Clutch a small bag, ordinarily not much larger than a large wallet that his held in the hand. Clutches have grown in popularity of late with fashionable styles from Chinese Laundry and Kenneth Cole as well as major designers like Jimmy Choo, Marc Jacobs, D&G and others.

Wristlet a small strap that slips over the wrist, ordinarily removable, is attached to a clutch or evening bag. Check out great styles from Coach

Evening Bag a small bag for more formal occasions, often made of satin or beaded fabrics. May be in clutch or wristlet style

Hobo typically a large, slouchy, crescent-shaped bag with a shoulder strap. These are ordinarily made of soft materials that slump when set down, though some designers have made bags in the hobo shape out of stiffer materials in a wide array of sizes. Among the designers with great hobos are Cole Haan, Dooney & Bourke, and Michael Kors.

Tote a large, ordinarily quadrate shaped bag with two shoulder straps. Smaller versions of this are sometimes called a Shopper. If you want a chic way to carry all your essentials, check out styles by Prada, Christian Dior, and Fendi

Satchel is a bag ordinarily larger in size with handles to be held or on the arm rather than over the shoulder. Check out designer styles by Nancy Gonzales, Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent.

Cross-body ordinarily small to medium in size, features a long, ordinarily adjustable strap, that is designed to be worn over the body.

Minibag refers to small sized handbags in a collection of styles, favorite of teens in brands like Xoxo, Chinese Laundry, Fossil, Guess and others.

So either you pick up that new Prada at Bergdorf Goodman, the Fendi at Neiman Marcus, a spectacular, new hobo at a local boutique, or scour the internet for just the right bag, the options are endless, no matter how many you own. Handbags are fun, fashionable, and here to stay.

Originally the word jewellery itself was anglicised from an old French word "joule" (jewel) but it does also date supplementary back in history and is associated to the latin word plaything. Commonly jewellery is made from only high-priced metals but in the past designers have utilised many other materials together with wood, rock and even cloth however silver is still the most common. Throughout time necklaces became more and more explicate as crafts men developed their skills. The plain and straightforward evolved into differing styles for men and women. Necklaces for men are a must have fashion accessory for the modern day urban male.

As necklaces were adapted into newer designs there meaning also changed for some people. Some wore them in battle for good luck whilst others used them to warn off evil spirits. A good modern day example of a potent sticker used in jewellery these days would that of the crucifix. Other examples that are used in religion are amulets which again are hung on a chain around the neck. Ultimately a heart shaped necklace known as a locket can also be looked upon as a sticker of love.

There are three types of necklaces available. The original necklace is a singular threaded beaded piece or a chain. Men's necklaces are Commonly just a chain for example. A pendant is other type of necklace that hangs from a chain or something like a leather thong which is an alternative option to consider. Ultimately a choker is a wider piece of jewellery and sits tighter around the upper part of the neck.

A Brief History of the Wearing of Necklaces For Women

The most unusual necklaces in the history of mankind must be those that were worn by the Pa Dong Long Neck tribe from Burma. Children were made to wear hoops from an early age around there necks. As the child grew more rings were added until when reaching adult age as many as 28 rings were worn in one go. The rings around the neck give the illusion that the neck is getting longer and stretching. In fact what is honestly happening is the collar bones are being weighed down over time, forcing them to lower hence more neck length. The women who wear the rings do get to take off them but only on their wedding night. It is hard to dream the ache in this procedure but much neck washing is required. They are then slipped back around the neck after the wedding night is over to remain for the rest of their lives. This is partly due to the neck muscles not being strong sufficient to sustain their heads anymore.

It was not only in Burma that the custom of hoop ring around the neck was practised but also in Africa too. The women here were called giraffe women due to the elongated necks they now had.

The hoops were worn around not just there necks but also there arms and legs. The brass rings would symbolise her devotion to her husband. It was the responsibility of the husband to provide the rings which also reflected his wealth with more he provided. The rings were only removed after his death as the rings symbolised a bond which was now broken. The custom of wearing brass rings in this way is now dying out as the modern tribes prefer to wear the more usual type of necklaces.

The fourth surmise why consumers buy brand watches is because of the make of the watches. The make teams that work for big brands tend to be the very best and an awful lot of work goes into designing each and every watch. This means that each and every watch is designed highly well. As a result, consumers find these watches level away because they are the most eye-catching and therefore these brand watches are all the time the most likely to sell.

The fifth surmise why consumers buy into brand watches is connected to the image of the watch. Some of the bigger brands like to link their watches to celebrities. Consumers who are very much in touch with the whole celebrity shindig pick up on this and like to be connected with this too. The CE1010 Analog Multifunction Watch from Fossil is the perfect way to stay punctual. From timeless classics to the latest fashions, Fossil is sure to have the timepiece that perfectly compliments your unique sense of style. Founded in 1984 when timepieces were created more for function than fashion, Fossil began to transform this notion with its unique combination of vintage 1950s Americana design and affordably accessible cool style. Adding to their collectability were the one-of-a-kind, trademark tins that came with the watches that mixed a creative spirit with a sense of humor. These iconic boxes are nearly as popular as the watches they hold and are regularly collected and traded throughout the world at flea markets, antique shops, and on eBay.

Today, Fossil produces over 300 different styles of watches in a continuously changing lineup. While the majority of designs are created by in-house designers, Fossil has reached out to such contemporary artisans as product designer Philip Starck and famed architect Frank Gehry (designer of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain) to create uniquely modern timepieces. In addition to style innovations, Fossil has also helped introduce innovative technologies into watches, such as the Wrist PDA that ran the Palm operating system. Fossil also offers complementary lines of small leather goods, belts, handbags, sunglasses, jewelry and apparel.
